It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Israel Shambira. Israel was a devoted carer of the Jabulani herd and a much-loved member of the HERD family. His dedication, kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, both elephants and people alike.
Israel leaves behind his family in Zimbabwe, who depended on him for support. In this time of unexpected loss, we invite our HERD community to come together to help provide for them as they face life without their husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Many of you have already reached out to ask how you can help. We have therefore set up the option to contribute $20, $50, $100 or more towards a fund for the Shambira family. Your support will go directly towards easing their burden and giving them the strength to begin a new chapter.
