Grateful Hearts & Honouring Kindness | HERD Thank You Blog

  • 30 March 2026

As March 2026 concludes, the HERD Team would like to take a moment to reflect with gratitude and extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible donors, supporters, and followers.

Your generosity and unwavering support make everything we do possible, from caring for the Jabulani Herd and protecting their environment to uplifting the communities around us. Whether you have made a donation, adopted an elephant, shared our story, or simply stood beside us in support, we are deeply grateful for your belief in our mission.

Every contribution, no matter the size, creates a meaningful impact. Every act of kindness helps us go further. Thank you for being part of our journey and for standing with our HERD Family.

In this blog, we would like to highlight the support received during the period from September 2025 to February 2026, following our previous Thank You update – Moments of Gratitude | HERD Thank You Blog 2025

Elephant Carers

A BIG thank you to Liane Kim Photography for their generous donation of 21 water bottles! These will make a real difference for the elephant carers, allowing them to easily carry water during their daily walks and stay hydrated while caring for the elephants. Your support is truly appreciated!

Ongoing Elle-Champions

A HUGE THANK YOU to each person, follower, and organisation that donated to HERD Trust and adopted an elephant between 1 September 2025 and 28 February 2026. This also includes donations to our Ele-Essential Wishlist, online shop and campaigns. We rely on incredible people like you to keep us going. Every cent counts, and no contribution is too small. The donations and adoptions we receive contribute to the day-to-day care of the elephant and operational costs at HERD.

HERD Flood Relief Fund

During January, extreme rainfall and flooding across Limpopo Province caused severe damage to roads, bridges, and drainage systems, as well as critical sanitation and power infrastructure.

The HERD team extends our heartfelt gratitude to every individual, organisation, staff member, follower, and donor family who stood with us during this challenging time. Your generosity and support by our side made a meaningful difference. THANK YOU!

The Next Steps | HERD Flood Relief Fund

We appreciate the support from a local tyre business in our community, who donated three big tyres to HERD. Our reserve team uses these tyres to scrape and repair some of the road infrastructure after the floods.

Thank you, HERD Family

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all our partners, donors, adoption parents, followers, friends, and supporters for your continued and unwavering support. Words cannot fully express how deeply we appreciate each and every one of you.

Your generosity, care, and commitment make a meaningful impact every single day, and we are truly grateful to have you as part of our HERD family.
