The Izindlovu Fund run by Ben van Hool and Helen van Hulle from Belgium, has been a firm supporter of HERD from the beginning.
Collectively, as a couple, they gathered friends and family to donate 73 hearts to our 1000 Hearts campaign which we launched in 2019 to raise funding to build the orphanage. It was during that time they decided to launch Izindlovu Fund and took the bold and supportive step of naming a nursery at HERD.
They continually look for ways to help HERD and other respected conservation organisations. Their ONLINE Shop is another avenue that helps raise funds to contribute towards these causes, of which 100% of profits are donated to their selected organisations, including HERD.
The Amarula Trust aims to safeguard the African elephant so that we can keep meeting them under the Marula trees, year after year. Sustainable environmental and educational projects are key to the preservation of our precious heritage.
Amarula is a locally made product of South Africa, using the elephants’ favourite little fruit, the marula. There is just one place on earth where the Marula trees grow – across Africa’s subequatorial plains. And there is just one time of year when the Marula trees bear their exotic fruit – at the height of our beautiful summer.
Because elephants travel for miles to feast on the wild fruit, locals call it ‘The Elephant Tree’.
A respected South African craft gin, Indlovu Gin is a proud supporter of HERD. The essential ingredients in Indlovu gin are derived from elephant dung that is washed and dried. The extracted botanicals are then infused into the gin, which provides unique African flavours.
They come in three delicious flavours:
15% of the profits from the sale of Indlovu Gin will be donated to support our work with elephants at HERD.

Poaching snares are one of the biggest threats to our precious wildlife, but Down to the wire are finding alternative ways to turn what once was so destructive into a symbol of hope. It speaks to us more than ever with Khanyisa’s journey since she was rescued from the jaws of a snare as a calf, severely injured and separated from her herd. Turning something of such grave destruction into a symbol of hope, with Down to the Wire’s reworked snare bracelets is truly a reminder of goodness and love in difficult times.

She aspires to make a significant contribution towards conservation by sharing her passion, capturing the imagination, and inspiring curiosities. She is a proud supporting partner of HERD(Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) She donates a 10% share of Elestration profits to our incredible mission.
A message from Hayley: “I am inspired by the Jabulani Herd every day, and all the dedicated work done by Adine and the amazing team at HERD. These beautiful orphaned Elephants and their special bonds are some of the most incredible stories I have ever read. The most inspiring part of it all is this unique adoptive Elephant family structure for orphaned baby elephants, which ensure a second chance of life, and most importantly to care for their emotional wellbeing and survival. Having the privilege to support and see this beautiful Herd and paint their stories, has got to be the best job in the world, for me, a dream come true.
